Sting in Pink, an annual fundraiser held every October, has helped raise almost $100,000 for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) over the past three years, including almost $35,000 in 2025.
Founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor Janelle Hail, NBCF’s mission is to help women now by providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.
“The Sting Soccer Foundation continues to champion women and families facing breast cancer through their annual Sting in Pink fundraiser,” said National Breast Cancer Foundation COO & CFO Rebecca Buell. “We are grateful to the entire Sting Soccer family for their steadfast support of our mission of Helping Women Now®.”
As part of the campaign, all players are required to purchase a Sting in Pink shirt, with proceeds being donated to NBCF, which they wear throughout the month during practices and events to show their support. In addition to raising awareness, teams participate in meaningful service activities such as packing Hope Kits for breast cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Over the past three seasons, the Sting community has packed and delivered over 1,200 of these packages filled with comforting items like fuzzy socks, relaxing teas, journals, and encouraging notes sent to women in treatment for breast cancer.
“Our goal was to give Sting Soccer a hands-on way to champion Breast Cancer Awareness and help our athletes understand their impact,” said Sting Soccer Foundation President Alexa Sultzbaugh. “When they pack HOPE Kits each year, our players and parents see exactly where their efforts and donations go and connect more deeply to the cause.”
